Dear Alison:

Thank you very much for sending us your story.

Not every situation is cut and dry. Gambling became an addiction for your husband, and as you experienced it can endanger the entire family.

If the addicted person refuses help then the only safe thing for the family to do is to separate themselves from that person, and protect the family legally from the debts so that they can go on with their lives.

We will keep you and your family in prayer.
