In Reference to the Poem: DON’T QUIT
To Whom it May Concern:
Mr. Anthony James is fraudulently claiming authorship of “Don’t Quit”, which he claims to have written “in the mid-1990s”.
FALSE.
This poem was read to me by my fourth grade teacher in the year 1965 – she stated that the author was unknown.
Then in 1980 when I embarked on an acting career in New York City, a dear cousin sent me a paper copy of the poem – author was listed as “unknown”.
I have never learned who the author of this poem is – but it has been an inspiration in my life for over 50 years, and I’d really like to know who that author was.
As for Mr. James (if that is his real name – think about it – invert the syllables and it becomes HEEHAW) – who claims to have written it while working in a psychiatric hospital – hmm, are we sure he wasn’t really a PATIENT in said hospital?
One can only wonder.
