I have tussled with this war thing myself a lot in my life.  I just missed the Vietnam war by a couple years (too young).  The Bible clearly states "Thou shalt not kill" yet God Himself ordered the Hebrew to go into Jericho and kill ALL.  Did that mean women and children too. Is it OK if ordered by God?

Well I'm not gonna question God but if Bush ordered me to go kill Iraqis then I might just take the court marshal instead.

I've known vets from several wars.  One in particular was a Vietnam vet who killed his own CO for making him kill a whole family and now he just sits there and drools on himself trying to rub the blood off his hands.

I'm a bit lost as to how to feel about war but then again wasn't it OK to fight Hitler to save lives and stop a madman? My Dad, a WWII vet, said it was good to drop the bomb in order to save lives as the Japanese were ready to fight to the last living person.

I dunno, but I sure doubt I could kill unless [given] a direct order from God.

Tony
