Frank L. Hoffman Interviewed: Why did God stop writing to us after the Bible was written?
Comments by Colin Sky Godfrey - 22 May 2003
Hi Frank.
I would like to continue this kitchen talk a little further. Firstly my friend, this... "
"All of the Hebrew ingredients were mixed together and kneaded into a loaf of the historical Word of God, and it was left to rise in the soul, spirit, and minds of the people for 400 years, until Jesus put it in the oven and baked it with His message of love. As Debra said, it's all there, we don't need anything else."
My dear pal... Hebrews were but one people... what of other prophets from God from other parts and times...that have not been included in God's Hebrew loaf? Surely a World Pie is better than a Hebrew loaf?
Here is some advice from other of God's Messengers. Is this stuff any less relevant than the Bible Frank? Shouldn't stuff like this also be in the pie? I mean... man cannot live by bread alone...
"Our task must be to free ourselves...by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty."
~ALBERT EINSTEIN"There is no fundamental difference between man and the higher animals in their mental faculties... The lower animals, like man, manifestly feel pleasure and pain, happiness, and misery." ~CHARLES DARWIN
"The soul is the same in all living creatures, although the body of each is different."
-HOPPOCRATES (philosopher)"The Earth is but one country and mankind its citizens." Baha'u'llah.
"...all love life. See yourself in others. Then whom can you hurt? What harm can you do?"
-BUDDHA"There is not an animal on the earth, nor a flying creature on two wings, but they are people like unto you."
-THE KORANMahavira, (Zoroaster) "Regard every living being as thyself..." ? 628-527 BC. "
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
- GHANDI"To become vegetarian is to step into the stream which leads to nirvana."
-BUDDHA"Veganism has given me a higher level of awareness and spirituality"
-DEXTER SCOTT KING (son of Martin Luther King)"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution."
-THOMAS EDISON"Be the change you wish to see in the world"
-MAHATMA GHANDI"Many things made me become a vegetarian, among them, the higher food yields as a solution to world hunger"
-JOHN DENVER"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet."
-ALBERT EINSTEIN"Being vegan is a statement to the whole world, no matter who listens, that I am a person who cares."
-DAHARJA"Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace."
-ALBERT SCHWEITZERMahavira has said, to injure someone even with your words and in thoughts... is Violence.
"For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love."
-PYTHAGORAS"If you have men who will exclude any of god's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men."
-ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI"Try not to become a person of success, but try instead to become a person of value."
~ALBERT EINSTEIN"If a man aspires towards a righteous life, his first act of abstinence is from injury to animals."
-ALBERT EINSTEIN"When a man has pity on all living creatures then only is he noble."
-BUDDHA (563? - 483? B.C.)All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
-EDMUND BURKE (1729-1797)"Full of love for all things in the world, practising virtue, in order to benefit others, this man alone is happy."
-DHAMMAPADA (Buddhist)"Love animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness, don't work against God's intent. Man, do not pride yourself on superiority to animals; they are without sin, and you, with your greatness, defile the earth by your appearance on it, and leave the traces of your foulness after you - alas, it is true of almost every one of us!"
-FYODOR DOSTOYEVSKY (1821-1881)"It is not THIS bloodshed, or THAT bloodshed, that must cease; but ALL bloodshed - all wanton infliction of pain or death." ~HENRY SALT, 1851-1939
Messages from God. IMO (notice how they contain the message of love) So, friend, secondly...
"I believe, by your question, that you desire to knead the Bible again and make it into something else."
Not at all Frank... man cannot live by bread alone... I would like to put some world food into your pastry to suit the worlds taste for God's bounty... yum yum. World Pie. One people. One Law. One basic right to live our lives in peace. I know Jesus supports me on this one... neighbour Frank.. and you too have leanings in this way to my mind...
"I personally believe that "Religion" and the "Church" have made faith, worship, and kingdom living far to complicated, and weighted down people with burdens that Jesus never intended them to carry. We need to simplify our relationship with the Lord by looking beyond all the pomp, trappings, and doctrinal differences to the simple common denominators of belief, faith, and love. This is what I try to do in my writings and presentations."
Those spelt barley rolls... sound good.
Extend and free God from traditions that have led to Question 13...? where a civilised, Bible led country uses weapons of mass destruction? Doesn't make sense, its as if some vital piece of information is missing from the Bible, the piece that helps Christians practice what they preach.
World pie is something the world could believe in. Racism just ain't gonna work... ever. We are all chosen people. Each living creature the same. I cannot except that Hebrews were the sole recipients of God's wisdom. Do you Frank? I think it a shame that a modern Bible, containing *new* messages of God's wisdoms, are not turned into pie for us all.
One God. One People... demands one equal religion. That religion is the practice of Goodness... the right thing... Very close to what you preach Frank..."We need to simplify our relationship with the Lord by looking beyond all the pomp, trappings, and doctrinal differences to the simple common denominators of belief, faith, and love. This is what I try to do in my writings and presentations".
Same.
In peace Colin Sky
