WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO KEEP THE SABBATH DAY HOLY?

Comments by Alexandra Green - 8 Feb 2004

Dear Mary & Frank,

I have to thank you again for a sermon specially meant for me!

The Lord has led me towards the last part of 2003 to start 'keeping' or 'honouring' His Sabbath.

And just this last two weeks I have been wondering what the exact details are of keeping the Sabbath. I definitely did not want to keep it to the letter of the Law as did the Pharisees, but I have been too liberal (for example doing my weekly shopping on Sabbath). Now I can understand why I felt a little guilty about that, yet when I mailed some Christian literature to some friends and family on Sabbath - I did not feel as guilty.

Understanding about the intent is making it clear to me. It also explains verses like Mark 2:27 'the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.'

Once again thanks for being God's voice - bringing me God's message.

Thanks also for the link to the study on Christian Perfection, I am slowly working my way through that, and find it very insightful and rewarding.

Love in the Lord,

Alexandra
