Dear James

Thank you so much for resurrecting this most (perhaps THE most) important subject again. Mr. C.L. Troupe and I have had differences of opinion on this site about this very subject, and I have just reread again what "He said" and what "I said".

I will carry on with this all important subject in a few days when I get my new computer back from the computer shop (it's under warranty and died) and I can print out the comments to check with as I write. In the meantime will you please read the discussions between Mr. Troupe and myself and put in your thoughts about our very widely differences of opinion - even though we both purportedly believe the same "WORD OF GOD".

Mr. Troupe seems to accuse me of being a Jehovah's Witness - because I quoted from their translation of the Holy Bible - "The New World Translation" There are hundreds of different Translations and I quoted from many of them in my book "All Creatures do go to Heaven, proved from the original languages of the Holy Scriptures." Both Catholic and Protestant.

Both would be nice - then as a third party with your obvious interest in this all important subject we can once more raise up truthful answers to your question - "I am always trying to figure out just exactly what GOD is up to here."

I'll finish this with a verse from several different translations - starting with the translation that my dear old Dad used to love - "Moffatt".

1 John 2:26-27 "I am writing to you this way about those who would deceive you, but the unction you received from him remains within you , and you really need no teaching from anyone; simply remain in him, for his unction teaches you about everything and is true and is no lie---remain in him, as it has taught you to do." (Moffatt) (Protestant).

1 John 2:26-27 "These things have I written to you, concerning them that seduce you. 27 And as for you, let the unction you have received from him, abide in you. And you have no need that any man teach you; but as his unction teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie. And as it hath taught you, abide in him." (Douay-Rheims Catholic Version).

1 John 2:26-27 "I write this to you with reference to those who would deceive you---seduce and lead you astray. 27 But as for you, (the sacred appointment, the unction) the anointing which you received from Him, abides (permanently) in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything, and is true, and is no falsehood, so you must abide---live, never to depart [rooted in Him, knit to Him] just as [His anointing] has taught you [to do]. (Amplified) (Protestant)

1 John 2:26-27 "These things I have written to you concerning those who lead you astray. 27 And as for you, let the annointing which you have received from him, dwell in you, and you have no need that anyone teach you.... (Saint Joseph New Catholic Edition).

1 John 2:27 "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (King James).

At least Mr. Troupe acknowledged that I was correct that the original Greek had no punctuation as we know it. There-fore, as far as Luke 23:43 is concerned, it is purely up to the Great Holy Spirit's enlightenment/revelation to His Chosen Ones to show us whether thousands of translators who have been taught by man's teaching - are correct, or whether we are led by His Holy Spirit?
