Please answer a question for me.
Gen 4:2-5 3 And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. 4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. NKJV
Do you have any comments or sermons on the above verses? I am confused. If God did not want us to eat meat, why was he pleased with Abel's offering but not Cain's. Do you think in that in the course of time the priests reversed the names??
You did mention about the first killing but nothing about the different offerings. What is also perplexing, the following scripture says:
And of the descendants of Cain, we are told that Jabal was the father of those who raise livestock (Genesis 4:20), the first animal agriculture, and a direct affront to God’s commandment to eat only plant foods.
I always suspected that from the beginning of human kind, the conflict was between agriculture and sheepherders.
Thank you for your time.
