We know what you mean, and no, it isn't a level playing field.
The world is violent and evil, particularly when it comes to animals and weaker human beings, and for loving, compassionate, and peaceful people it is an uphill struggle.
And, violence can never make a level playing field, it will only make things worse. Evil people always want excuses to try to justify their violence, indifference, and injustice, and ALF gives them that excuse, because they cannot find fault with true love, compassion, and peace.
