On March 7 the office of Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava sent a 'Notice of Termination of Lease' letter Thursday to Eduardo Albor, the president of park operator The Dolphin Company. They have until April 21 to vacate and surrender the property.
This couldn’t be possible without decades of constant pressure from
veterinarians, activists, concerned citizens, and investigations.
Thank you for any part you have helped play in getting this business
one step closer to a thing of the past.
With just over a month to vacate the property, what will it take to
move the animals somewhere safe? As mentioned in our previous email,
and even more pressing now, we need your help! Do you know a zoo or
wild animal sanctuary veterinarian who may know of a facility with
available space for the animals?
We need to ensure these animals find proper homes. Please reach out
to your networks and help us create a plan so the animals of Miami
Seaquarium can start the next chapter of their lives in a healthier
and safer facility.
