Meet Charlota, a young white tigress who was kept illegally as a pet. She still has her whole life ahead of her, being just one year old. We have the unique opportunity to give Charlota a new life in our care – but we can’t do it without you. Will you help bring her to our sanctuary?
The cruelty behind her beauty
Isn’t she beautiful? White fur, mesmerizing blue eyes and a delicate
pink nose. Who would suspect the cruelty that often hides behind
this beautiful appearance?
The sad reality is that her rare look is most likely the result of
inbreeding—this practice often results in serious health issues. Her
crossed eyes serve as a poignant reminder of the price she paid for
human greed.
A victim of the ruthless trade
When Charlota was a tiny cub, she was taken away from her mother and
sold to a private keeper in the Czech Republic. She was hand raised
and treated as a pet. The poor one grew up in a completely species
inappropriate environment where she did not experience what it feels
like to live the life of a tiger.
Charlota is waiting to start over
After her owner posted videos of Charlota on social media, the
authorities seized her and asked us to take her into our care. Right
now, Charlota is temporarily living in a zoo but she is in urgent
need of a species-appropriate forever home.
