Pastor Frank Discusses Acting Upon Belief

For today’s episode, vegan Pastor Frank addresses how we live out our beliefs. Belief alone doesn’t get us to heaven, but acting upon belief in faith does. If you say you believe in Jesus, then do what He commanded. In the Book of James, Chapter 2, Jesus’ brother teaches us that faith without works is dead. “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, ‘Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well’—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So, you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless” James 2:14-17. If we don’t act upon what Jesus taught us, then our belief is in question. We can’t work our way to heaven, but we should want to live out our faith because of Jesus' unconditional love for us and our love for Him in return. And the way we live out our faith is by loving God and all His creation—nonhuman and human animals, and the earth. These two commands, to love God and love others, are the heart and soul of all Scripture. That’s how we act upon our beliefs. Listen to learn more.
