The Annual Meeting of The Mary T. and Frank L. Hoffman Family Foundation is held over several days in late Spring or early Summer of each year following the filing of the 990-PF with the Internal Revenue Service, on or before 15 May.  The time frame allows for personal, telephone, and email communication among Trustees in accordance with the By-Laws.  The Dated indicated below is the date these Minutes were compiled and approved.

  • Upon motion, properly seconded, the minutes of the previous Annual Meeting were reviewed and approved unanimously.

Treasurer's Report:

2024 Final - Budget compared to Actual Expenses

  • Income from Gifts Received $137,000 [Actual $116,200.13]
  • Expenses: $132,000 [Actual $175,611.67]
  • Hoffman Family Trust: $0 [Actual $20,300.00]
  • Internet and Other Expenses: $9000 [Actual $16,057.23]
  • Internet Publishing Services and Administration: $115,000 [Actual $130,794.44]
  • Professional Fees: $2000 [Actual $5,460]
  • Donations Given: $2000 [Actual $3,000]
  • Contingency and Reserve: $4000 [Actual $0]
  • *Operating Loss of $59,411.54 goes against the balance of the sale of the Sleepy Hollow Office.

    • Income from Gifts Received: $187,000 [Actual $54,544.55]
    • * (with additional donation from Frank of $180,000 (15k per month) and $7,000 coming from other sources. This will take us through January 2026.)
    • Expenses: $187,000 [Actual $74,340.70]
    • Internet and Other Expenses: $16,000 [Actual $10,628.26]
    • Internet Publishing Services: $161,000 [Actual $60,501.56/payroll]
    • Professional Fees: $2,000 [Actual $2,072.88]

  • Income and Expenses are running below because we used $25,000 of the sale of the Sleepy Hollow office.

Old Business:

  • Chase of Simplified corrected tax issues caused by PayChex

  • Working through the last outstanding things with Michigan
  • Still finding addition problems - now with Washington
  • Upgraded Splashtop - management of all computers
  • Permissions solution and new structure of publishing
  • Approved for 1st ever Ethical Vegan Ministry in the Diocese of Lansing - Launch Sept 2025
    • Seeing Fish Anew program, Animal Gospel program, 12 Week Ethical Vegan Program

  • New Business:

    • Negotiating with First Presbyterian Church in Dimondale, MI
    • Disccusion of Contingency Planning
    • A motion was unanimously passed for the Proposed Budget for Next year 2026:
      • Income from Gifts Received: $187,000
      • * (with additional donation from Frank of $180,000 (15k per month) and $7,000 coming from new and existing donors. This will take us through January 2027.)
