Despite the fact that a majority of people from communities of color suffer from dairy's ill effects just like Cassandra, milk is still promoted as healthy for all Americans.
I want to share a story with you about why what we do is so important.
A few months ago, I received an email from a teen named Cassandra (I've
changed her name here to protect her anonymity). She was looking for advice.
Each day, her mother would serve her milk with breakfast, and each morning
she would head off to school feeling nauseated, cramped, and bloated.
It got so bad that she had trouble focusing in class; her morning routine was throwing off her entire day. But her mother continued to serve her dairy, as milk is an important part of a healthy diet, right?
Sadly, Cassandra's dilemma is common. The dairy industry has passed
advertising off as health science for too long. And despite the fact that a
majority of people from communities of color suffer from dairy's ill effects
just like Cassandra, milk is still promoted as healthy for all Americans.
This is the unseen face of dietary racism. Switch4Good promotes dairy-free,
plant-based diets because they're healthy for ALL people. When you join us,
we'll ensure that your gift goes toward helping all people live better,
healthier lives.

We began this archive as a means of assisting our visitors in answering many of their health and diet questions, and in encouraging them to take a pro-active part in their own health. We believe the articles and information contained herein are true, but are not presenting them as advice. We, personally, have found that a whole food vegan diet has helped our own health, and simply wish to share with others the things we have found. Each of us must make our own decisions, for it's our own body. If you have a health problem, see your own physician.
