"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
Last year, as in years past, I did my decorating for Christmas the Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving Day. This year I couldn’t find the time to do this, so today I set up the small tree, the outside wreath, and the large decorative wreath over our stone fireplace. It doesn’t look like I’m going to get around to setting up the ceiling height tree next to the fireplace and doing all the other decorating all over the house – maybe next year….
Note: A retired firefighter friend of ours was glad to see that we use artificial Christmas trees. He said that he had seen too many tragic fires that had started with the use of “real” Christmas trees.
