"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
Yesterday was one of those perfect spring days. In the morning I enjoyed being outdoors doing the yard work – weed whacking, pruning branches, etc. Later my husband and I took a long walk, enjoying the beauty of the blossoms and that special fresh appearance of the trees as new leaves emerge.
Every year we look forward to seeing the wildflowers growing along
roadsides and in the woods. For a collection of our photos, visit our Nature
Studies section, which also includes photos we have taken in Virginia,
Pennsylvania, and Block Island, Rhode Island:

This morning we thought we’d go over to our favorite farm market and see if they were open for the year. They were, and they had their first produce of the season for sale – fresh spinach; so we bought lots of it.
