Puppy Mill Pipeline Is Shut Down in New York State

From Animal Defenders of Westchester (ADOW)
December 2022

Pet stores in New York State will no longer be able to sell dogs, cats, or rabbits. This cuts off a source of income for breeding mills and encourages other states to follow suit.

We'd like to extend our sincerest thanks and appreciation to you all for your truly herculean efforts to get the NYS Puppy Mill Pipeline Bill passed.

Humane issues are so numerous, we don't have time to rejoice before the next one flies in like they're on a conveyor belt.

But take a moment to ponder and reflect: remembering back to when legislative committee heads refused to even put this bill up for a vote. This major accomplishment almost seems like a dream!

It took women almost 100 years to get the vote in this country; gonna take a bit longer for the animals. But with your persistent, dedicated work we are seeing humane changes in our lifetime that didn't seem possible.

You alone did this: It is not easy...but animal advocacy is a long race, not a short one.

Our enormous Gratitude and Blessings to every one of you,
~~ Animal Defenders of Westchester
