Letter from Rose Concerning Faith, God, and Christianity - 1 Apr 2005

Hi

I am just trying to recover my faith in a God that looks after animals.

For years I have seen so called Christians, who loved God's creatures, bring them home in the form of chickens, and legs of lamb that have been slaughtered to feed the Christians who God called to look after them.

I see the hypocrisy, and Ok I have been guilty of the same attitude (to my eternal shame), but I now want to live a compassionate lifestyle by being vegan.  I live in England, and am as far as I'm aware we don't have anything like your website ideals, so if it is alright could I join your organisation, perhaps? Also where can I get information to help me with the process of changing my lifestyle

Thanks,

Rose

Dear Rose:

We graciously accept you membership.

In spite of the so-called Christians who haven't any compassion for animals, God is still in control, even if He allows the evil in this world to continue.

Jesus tells us: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God" (Matthew 5:9). Paul picks up on this thought in Romans 8, and in verses 18-25 he says that the whole of creation is anxiously groaning for the revealing of the children of God to free it from corruption. If the Christians you describe were the children of God they say they are, they would help free the earth from its corruption, pain and suffering.

In Isaiah 11:6-9, the prophet describes a peaceable kingdom where no one will hurt or destroy because they are full of the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea. We believe that the reason that this is not happening is that most believers lack the knowledge of God.

From what you said about yourself, you seem to be more faithful to God's calling, and more of a true Christian than they are.

Just some food for thought...

For physical vegan food, you might find our recipe section helpful. www.all-creatures.org/recipes.html

We look forward to hearing from you again.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
