Letter from Jennifer about Introducing a Family Member to Vegetarianism - 2 Aug 2006
I need some advice on how to show my aunt why it is so important to be vegetarian. As soon as I start talking about it she says she can’t hear anymore.
If only she saw the things I did, she would faint. I was watching a video about the dog and cat fur trade. The poor cats and dogs were in small cages treated like a sack of potatoes. I’m outraged with the lack of compassion from people. My heart is broken for these animals when I see these videos
God bless all living things.

Dear Jennifer:
Thank you for writing.
Perhaps the best way to approach your aunt is to talk about eating more compassionately, as she apparently knows about animal suffering, but hasn’t yet resolved in her mind her own contribution to the problem.
Show her some good recipes, like the ones on our web site and suggest that you prepare some of them together. You might also want to talk about the health benefits of being vegan, and we have many articles to help in our health section.
We hope this helps.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
