August 24 2007
THE suffering inflicted on animals aboard live export ships (The Age, 23/8) is unacceptable.
Abandoning animals to the terror and torture of ritual slaughter in foreign lands is bad enough. If, on top of this, the conditions on board are so horrendous that hundreds of animals are dying en route, it is time to shut down this disgraceful and inhumane industry.
