Letter from Diane about Our Web Site Ministry and Churches - 24 Apr 2008

I came upon this link from another site.  I'm a long time vegetarian.

I'm also a Seventh-day Adventist albeit a persecuted one.

When I started reading the Scriptures of what God's plans were originally for mankind, I couldn't help but remember that I'd heard it before, and I totally agreed with what I was reading. Of the story of why God permitted meat to be eaten after the flood.

Back in May 1983 I attended Pastor Geoffery Youlden Mission in Ayr in North Queensland Australia and I can remember him saying the same as what I read on the website. I consider my body to be a temple of the Holy Spirit and I wouldn't dream of putting anything into my body that would defile it.

When I became a vegetarian I experienced a very powerful conviction about not eating meat with blood still in it, Which according the the Bible is sin 1st Samuel Ch 14:33 and verse 34 and I recall about reading other verses in Leviticus also that I felt a great conviction from. My conviction was so powerful that my conversion was almost overnight. Nor would I put a drop of alcohol in my mouth or a cigarette in my mouth. I'd been a smoker until 3 week's before I attended the Mission. Even though alcoholism is in my family I never ever liked the stuff and it wasn't a temptation for me.

I've written down the website so I can go back to it. I couldn't bear the thought of not knowing what was the website that I had visited. I had started off on veganmania.com. Nor do I gamble in any shape or form and I cannot understand what it is that attracts people to it, like moths to a flame. Gambling has never had any hold over me for which I thank God.

Even when I was a carnivore I'd never eaten any other seafood other than fish. I would choose to eat grass before I would revert back to flesh eating. It breaks my heart when I see cattle being transported in trucks or an ad on TV for tick prevention for fatter cattle for more money for when they are taken off to market. When such ad's are on TV I quickly change the station because I can't bear to watch them. I can't read or watch any stories about animals unless they are happy ones.

Bye for now

Di.

[ I hope I haven't bored you to tears with my rambling on.] I don't know what the Subject of crdir stands for.

Dear Diane:

Thank you very much for your letter, and for telling us about yourself and your faith. We enjoyed every bit of it.

You might want to enter our web site from the Home Page www.all-creatures.org as it will give you a better understanding of our mission and ministry.

Could you tell us a little more about how you feel persecuted in or by the SDA church.

We also have a veg-Christian email discussion group that you might like to join.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
