Poems of compassion dedicated to the non-human animals who share this planet with us and the people who fight for them.
You say tomato,
I say tomahto.
You say delicious,
I say you’re vicious.
You say it’s chewy,
I say corpse is sinewy.
You say it’s greasy,
I say you’ve melted the fat of a species.
You say it’s medium rare,
I say you’re an idiot that doesn’t care.
You say ingredients,
I say sentients.
You say your burger is fatty,
I say thats real dead cow formed into a patty.
You say it’s finger licking good,
I say a thinker frigging wouldn’t.
You say scrambled,
I say mangled.
You say smothered in gravy,
I say suffered…a tragedy.
You say well done,
I say from cell to a gun.
You say mouth watering,
I shout slaughtering!
You say refrigerated & full of nutrition,
I say refrigerated to delay composition.
You say ‘yummy, I’m eating a sausage roll’,
I say you ain’t nothing but a hollow ass troll.
