All of God's creatures have rights, a fact that most people don't seem to recognize.
This includes both human and non-human animals, but not all of them can speak for themselves.
A True Rebirth
By Mary T. Hoffman
A poem I read the other day
Touched my soul in such a way
That tears began to cloud my eyes.
The poignant words still haunt me now,
And to myself I’ve made a vow
To let the world (though it denies)
Know how creatures suffer pain
In this cruel world that’s gone insane
And wrenches calf from mother cow.
Stop buying milk or beef or veal
Go Vegan now, for your next meal.
God will bless you if you care
Enough to change and, hence, to spare
All creatures living in despair.
Before you spend another dime
On “food” that’s nothing but a crime,
Take a vow to end the grief:
Don’t aid, abet another thief
To steal and slaughter, cage and rape.
Help bring God’s Kingdom to the earth,
Replace all tears with heartfelt mirth,
And celebrate a true Rebirth.
