Bearing Witness By Sandra Isobel Kyle, May Safely Graze

Anyone with even half of a brain
Wouldn't put themselves through, again and again
The agony of feeling the heartbreaking chills
Of innocent dairy calves come to be killed

Am I a fool? I'm pitied by some.
It's just that my ears hear a different drum
Away in the distance a repeated refrain
‘Bearing witness is good’ and ‘It’s not in vain’

Look, this world is broken! It must be transformed!
A stranger's compassion is not to be scorned
Somehow in the ether, somewhere up above
It's recorded that dark deeds are countered by Love

may safely graze
