A haven at Christmas

A lone woman
Who cares
In defiance of others

In dangerous lands
Of Gaza sorrow
She watches

Over kittens
Youngsters
And the old

She walks quiet streets
In search of
The desperate, desolate
And unloved

With sanctuary doors
That remain open
For Christmas

For all seasons

Chaichi's haven
A place of love
A beacon of hope

This is a poem about an amazing cat rescue sanctuary in Telemond, Israel, Chachi's Haven, and one woman's constant fight to help all cats and kittens in need.
