An Animal Rights Poem from

All of God's creatures have rights, a fact that most people don't seem to recognize. This includes both human and non-human animals, but not all of them can speak for themselves.

(with apologies to The Beatles)

I need somebody,
Not just anybody,
You know I need someone to HELP !!!

As a young carnivore, I often used to say
Iíll not go vegan, it just didnít seem my way.

But now these days, Iím really not so self-assured,
I worry Ďbout
the factory farms and all that damn manure.

Help me please, new vegan here in town
Can I wear old leather, silk or even goose-down?
Help me keep my feet on solid ground,
Wonít you please, please help me?

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
No longer do
my daily meals
ever need to graze.

Iím vegan now, goodbye to cow,
and welcome the new day.
Cause now at last, I think Iíve found
the truly peaceful way.

Help me please, new vegan here in town
I need some recipes for soy ground round
Help me get this Tempeh bacon brown,
Wonít you please, please help me, help me, help me, oh!
