I Am A Bird By Supuni Abeygunasekara

I am a bird that sitting in my cage,
I have never seen orange sun rays,
My wings are clipped and feet are tied,
So, I open my throat to sing.
I had laid thousands of eggs,
Never had a chance to be a loving mom,
I loved to cuddle my little ones,
and tell them bed time stories,
but they stole my little kids,
I did not even get a chance to say hello to them,
Life is not a gift to me,
I stand on a grave of dreams,
My shadow shouts on a nightmare scream,
So I await death with tearful eyes

crying Hen
