SOMEWHERE
by M. Linda Steffey

I want to know that somewhere
There's at least one piece of sky
Reserved for just the red-tailed-hawk
Where falcons, eagles fly!

I want to know that out there
Where the days are gold and sunny
The animals live in peace there
And not shot for sport or money!

I want to take my children
By the hand through wooded land
To the shores of living seas
On beaches of sparkling sand...

I want them each to know
And not fear the wolf and bear..
They must learn these animals
Have a rightful place out there!

Wild horses, the deer, the puma
The whale and hippo, too...
Were all created by our God
Like He made me and you!

For the children yet to come
Long after we are gone
Let them see an eagle soar!
Let them hear whale's song!

And let them see herds of horses
As across the plains they run...
For them..let all the creatures live
Beneath God's golden sun.....
