Thank God I'm a Vegan
By Claudia Emerson
An Animal Rights Poem from All-Creatures.org

All of God's creatures have rights, a fact that most people don't seem to recognize. This includes both human and non-human animals, but not all of them can speak for themselves.

Thank God I'm a Vegan
By Claudia Emerson

Thank God I'm a Vegan
For he has opened the eyes of my soul and spirit
To know of the cruelty involved in eating animals
To know each bite non-vegans chew
Is cruelty and darkens your soul and weighs your spirit

Thank God I'm a Vegan
I leave out the animals at the dinner table
No corpses on my hemp table cloth
I give thanks for living in this life
Knowing I saved the lives of many turkeys today

Thank God I'm a Vegan
Today and tomorrow I live cruelty free
May God send my way more vegan friends
To share stories of helping animals
To enjoy happy meals together

Thank God I'm a Vegan
My tummy is always full of nutritious meals
My soul full of joy
My mind full of wisdom
My spirit full of laughter
My heart full of love for life

Thank God I’m a Vegan
Another day to share the truth
To stand up, speak out, shout out
About the animals and our planet
Another night having a good nights sleep
Having no shame on my journey
Knowing I’m saving animals' lives each day
Little by little, one by one!
