An Animal Rights Poem from All-Creatures.org

All of God's creatures have rights, a fact that most people don't seem to recognize. This includes both human and non-human animals, but not all of them can speak for themselves.

Wolf

A flick of a tail,
A blink of an eye,
Only the strong prevail,

They now must say good-bye.
They are not weak,
Especially in heart and soul,
But us they cannot beat,
We've made them go.

A hint of sadness,
A lost pack,
Gone is the gladness,
They will never come back.

She is the last,
Due to the trickery of lies,
Her time has now passed,
As slowly, she dies,

We've caused this to happen,
We made all the lies,
Some are even laughing,
Now, because of us, she must die.

The time has come for us to cry,
They were our friends,
We've made them die,
Their sadness now ends.

I wave good-bye as the last wolf howls,
By us she is slain,
And I hear the hoot of an owl,
As he cries for the wolves pain.
