God’s Wisdom and Love
By Walterrean Salley
I gazed across the evening
At the setting sun
As it hastened to its place
Another day is done.
I glanced up at the sky,
Still absent of the stars—
Night was drawing nigh,
And soon it would be dark.
I looked across the vast expanse
Of the open skies,
And marveled at such noble work.
But then, I wondered—how?
I thought on Him who made the skies
And the absent stars,
The sun that hastened to its place,
The dawning and the dark.
Then, silently, I bowed my head
In reverence and in awe
To thank the all-wise Creator
For His wisdom and His love.
