We are Like Petals from a Rose
Poetry and Music By Andrew Pell
We are like petals from a rose.
We blossom and then the wind blows us to and fro.
We flourish and then we fade.
In the ground we are gently laid.
It is the flowering petals that provide the beauty.
Like the rose we shine for others to see.
The essence of the rose is what we do.
Its bright color and life make all things new.
Then we fall and then lay in the ground.
The cycle of life is very sound.
We bring life to the soil where we reside.
Our spirit with God walks side by side.
We flower again at an appointed time.
The rose will see many lifetimes.
