Preparation

Crisp - apple, banana, and orange is a relatively easy to prepare vegan recipe that is great tasting whether hot or cold for breakfast, dessert, or as a snack. Preparation time is about 15 minutes, and cooking time in a microwave oven is 5-7 minutes.

We prepare our apple, banana and orange crisp in a covered glass baking dish in our microwave oven, but it can be made in a conventional oven set at 350º F.

Wash the apples and cut into wedges.  Remove the core section, slice each section into bite-size pieces, and place in the baking dish.  Peel and slice the bananas and add to the baking dish.  Peel the oranges, divide into sections, cut each section in half or thirds, removing any seeds in the process, and add to the baking dish.

Add the raisins, walnuts, and rolled oats.  Sprinkle in the cinnamon, and mix well.

Cover the baking dish and place in the microwave oven for 5-7 minutes on "high."  If you are cooking in a conventional oven, the cooking time could be 15 to 20 minutes (at about the half way point, mix to insure even heating).

Remove from the oven and serve.  Enjoy!

Left-overs are also good cold.

Vegan FlagThe above recipe is in keeping with God's creation intent (Genesis 1:29-31): 'Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-- everything that has the breath of life in it-- I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.' (NIV) Let no animal suffer or die that we may live!
