Tossed Salad with Beans
A Tossed Salad with Beans is a great way to turn a salad into a meal. Our hunger is satisfied by eating carbohydrates, which is supplied by the beans.
Ingredients:
Tossed Salad (as you like to make
it)
Chick Peas (Garbanzo Beans)
and/or
Kidney Beans
and/or Mixed Bean Salad
Favorite Salad Dressing
Preparation:
The Chick Peas, Kidney or others Beans can be cooked from dried beans or served right out of the can. We will usually use a 15 oz. can for two people.
If using canned beans, let the liquid drain off the beans before putting them on the salad. In this way any left over beans can be stored in a glass or plastic container (in the liquid) in the refrigerator.
Pour on your favorite dressing and enjoy.
The above recipe is in keeping with God's creation intent (Genesis 1:29-31): 'Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-- everything that has the breath of life in it-- I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.' (NIV) Let no animal suffer or die that we may live!
