Goat Clover

After 14 years at Woodstock Sanctuary, our friend Clover passed away in her barn, surrounded by the goats who knew her best.

This girl was found in a backyard as a tiny 7 pound baby. The woman who found her thought at first that she was cat or a small dog. Clover’s first days at Woodstock were uncertain, as she didn’t eat well and needed fluids. However, as time passed she began to thrive and live the life she deserved.

She even developed a reputation as a little escape artist! She was very spunky and extremely confident. Clover didn’t just make friends with the other goats—at one time she helped us save 3 other goats, Harper, Prince, and Stella, through a blood transfusion.

Clover donated blood that helped stabilize and save her friends. She was known for having a particular spot in the goat pasture where she would always sit on her favorite rock, and staff will probably still refer to that spot as “Clover’s Rock.”

In her last days, Clover was surrounded by human and nonhuman friends. An elder goat, her health declined and she was monitored for comfort.

We’re grateful to have known Clover, loved her, and shared her story with the world.
