2019 has been a sad year of very dear friends passing on.

I was so happy in this photo in the company of three of my dearest friends. Now as the year closes all three are buried together with a planter marking their final resting spot.

Dear Prince died first in February when 10 years old. I bottle raised him after he was born at a slaughterhouse and his poor mother then led to her slaughter. I promised her I would look after her dear little boy.

Then on March 24 my beloved Leo died aged 12. We rescued his mum from a puppy factory not knowing she was pregnant. I was blessed to be given one of her pups who became one of the deep loves of my life.

And then a few weeks ago dear Dani hen died. We rescued Dani from an old dilapidated rusty battery cage in October 2016. She was emaciated, fatigued and her leg was badly crippled. She was never able to walk but she hopped about on her one good leg for her three years of freedom here at the Sanctuary.
