So many loved Holly. And there's no doubt all turkeys are Holly. Open your hearts and let these birds reside there with respect. You don't need to eat their tortured bodies.
A special bird who was allowed to live her life in peace. Holly was rescued by ALV from a filthy crowded factory farm shed shortly before her slaughter age of four months. Sadly she had ALL six nail digits amputated and a large gaping wound.
The cruel turkey industry usually only removes the middle longest nail digit to cut down on injuries from fighting in the overcrowding conditions. Why they chopped off all six of Holly's as a chick, who knows?
We didn't think she'd survive long, but she surprised us all with gracing us with her gentle presence for 6 years here at Liberation Sanctuary. So many loved Holly. And there's no doubt all turkeys are Holly. Open your hearts and let these birds reside there with respect. You don't need to eat their tortured bodies.
Many thanks to Skye Isle for digging the grave...
to dear Rosie who stands guard over all funerals here...
and to Sweet Kang for the comic relief of trying the hole out for size...
