When I went to visit, I received nasty comments from people close to me, like: "Are you going to adopt this?" "What an ugly cat, he shouldn't even be alive," "You're going to give your life take care of this cat?" I didn't listen to the comments.
This beau in the photo is my son Pinguinha, he is about 5 years old and was
adopted by me earlier this year.
Yes he is different, unfortunately he had cancer and had to have his ears
and nose removed.
Pinguinha was rejected by all the adopters from the NGO he lived in, people
looked at him and felt everything but love.
This made him more introverted, quiet, "angry" with humans, as all his
brothers got attention and houses except him.
When I went to visit, I received nasty comments from people close to me,
like: "Are you going to adopt this?", "What an ugly cat, he shouldn't even
be alive", "You're going to give your life take care of this cat?",
"And if the cancer comes back, what do you do?", "I can't even look at it
too much, it makes me sick"...
I didn't listen to the comments, I knew there was a risk that the cancer
would come back, that it would be very difficult for him to adapt and trust
me, but I insisted anyway, because something told me that this kitten was
destined to be my son.
Today 4 months have passed since his adoption, the happiest 4 months of my
life, with a docile, affectionate, sneaky, greedy and very calm cat.
The best choice I had was to adopt my Pinguinha and I will never regret it!
No matter what you look like, no matter how old you are, the important thing
is love.
