Albie survived terrible neglect and abuse and was found in Prospect Park, Brooklyn in 2007, with a leg injury probably from being hog-tied. He had to have his leg partially amputated because of the damage. He came to Woodstock Farm Sanctuary in June 2011.

We are so sad to share that Albie, our charismatic and dignified
giant-in-spirit goat elder, is gone. We knew it was the end and he passed
peacefully in his home, surrounded by goat and human friends.
In remembering Albie we don’t want to dwell on what happened to him as it
didn’t define him or his long life. But he survived terrible neglect and
abuse and was found in Prospect Park, Brooklyn in 2007, with a leg injury
probably from being hog-tied. He had to have his leg partially amputated
because of the damage.
Other goats respected him deeply and loved him. His handsome and intelligent face and wide perfect horns graced the pasture and barns for such a very long time. By far our oldest goat, Albie has died at 17 and a half, but we wish he could have lived 100 years.

Albie had so many friends and was beloved by generations of goats including
his dearest old friends Sam and Clover who also recently passed away.
We love you forever, Albie. And we miss you so much already.
