Unparalleled Suffering shares original drone footage of ritual animal sacrifice for Eid Al-Adha and discusses their experience documenting this disturbing event. Although compassionate alternatives to Eid's traditional sacrifices have gained momentum in recent years, there is still much work to be done across all cultures to eliminate the unnecessary cruelty perpetuated in the name of tradition and religion.

Wide aerial of the operation I documented over Eid Al-Aha. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me to purchase the drone that was used for this investigation.

Back in June countless millions (or billions) of Muslims participated in the annual tradition called Eid Al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice. The animals who are “sacrificed” are brutalized and killed for religious beliefs all around the world—predominantly lambs, sheeps, goats and cows. In some places overseas so many animals are slain that the streets literally flood with blood. A US-based organization, Animal Recovery Mission, has captured heavy-hitting documentation of this tradition in foreign countries, but until now nobody has captured Eid carried out in the United States where I believe it may take place at hundreds of different locations.
I found one location that seemed somewhat accessible to me as a non-participant, but I was rejected from the spot almost as soon as I entered. The security was tight and there was no way to get in unless you had prepaid for your victim(s) and could provide proof. Fortunately, I brought my drone as backup. The next hurdle I faced was dealing with the reality that there was absolutely nowhere to park my vehicle except for one semi-nearby house, which I ended up getting permission to do since the people who lived there had major issues with this particular operation and the wealthy man who runs it.
I aerially documented the massacre for two days and was remarkably not detected by a single person. Drones are extremely noisy, so I had to keep mine quite high over the property. I recorded video in Ultra High Definition 4K resolution (3840x2160) and then edited my expose in a much lower 720 HD resolution (1280x720) so I could bring viewers closer in on the action, albeit with drastically reduced resolution.
The location I documented had hundreds upon hundreds of customers each day. On a typically very quiet road most of the year, during this period there were endless cars traveling through with license plates primarily from three different states. Not only did people come to kill and butcher innocent animals, but a lot of families stuck around for several hours and had fun like they were at an amusement park specifically designed for psychos.
Witnessing this on the ground would have been a whole different level of disturbing, but even seeing it from high above had me fuming with non-stop frustration, disgust, and utter hopelessness. I’m continually baffled as to how so many people believe that the way to honor one’s deity is to degrade, torture, and kill their so-called creations. Although there are workers on site who are there to carry out the killing and butchering, a ton of the visitors I witnessed decided to do all of the dirty work on their own. Some would let the workers do the majority of the work aside from the throat sawing. Nearly every customer had major difficulties dragging their animals to the kill spots and it wasn’t uncommon to see people struggle to cut the animals heads off due to utilizing dull knives. I also saw children playing with animal carcasses like they were new toys they had just been given.
As you can see in my video helpless animals are killed and chopped into pieces right by the living. Some animals have a nearly front row seat to the slaughter all day long. It’s a constant show of inhumanity by the workers and the customers. There are always those who are happy to film the violence, including little children—as my video illustrates. While animals are screaming for their lives and twisting around their barley-clinging-on heads, children nearby play in the slaughterhouse fun zones or just hang around the violence as if they are taking courses in the art of becoming desensitized.
I know you probably would like to know the name of this place and maybe what you can do to help. This year I will not be able to disclose the name and I’m at a loss for ways to help. However, I have already started planning for next year and after Eid passes in 2026 I will have a lot more to show and a lot more to say. That’s all I can tell you for now.
So what is Eid Al-Adha?
It is supposed to commemorate the story in the quran of the prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his own son by killing him for god, but then god gave him a lamb to kill instead. So muslims who participate in this tradition use this story as an excuse to “sacrifice” an animal. It’s just another senseless religious tradition and another pathetic justification to torture animals on a mass scale. The only thing these people are sacrificing is respect, compassion, kindness, reason, intelligence, and empathy.
