Mark 5:1-20
Comments by Stephen Augustine
Hello Frank and Others,
I really like this exegesis! I have a feeling that most people would find
it far-fetched but in the spirit of the story of Balaam and the donkey I
think it speaks a powerful truth. I quite often remind myself that we
really have no idea of how non-humans perceive and relate to their Creator.
Perhaps there is a "Gospel according to Pigs" of which we have no
knowledge, much less understanding.
On a somewhat side note, this exegesis reminds me of the delightful trilogy
of books by Philip Pullman the first of which is "The Golden Compass".
In that universe all humans have "daemons" (not "demons") and the "daemons"
take the form of different animals which are both the physical
manifestation of conscience and lifelong companions. Makes for wonderful
reading...
In Christ's Peace,
Stephen
