Re: A HUNTER'S POEM by Lemuel T. Ward
I read this poem once many years ago, but as I have witnessed the blood lust of killing for "fun" (I won't dignify it by calling it a "sport"), this poem has stuck in my mind for all creatures, big and small.
Why is it that mankind is the only animal that kills just for the thrill? If they need the meat, and will eat it, then that is different, but to stop a beating heart just to get some type of "high"!
I wonder what God thinks about all of the Christians who do these things. I think it brings the individual a step closer to callousness, and thank God, the author of this poem saw it!
