Dear Bob:
Thank you very much for your comments and poem. We enjoyed reading both, and we will publish your poem in our poetry section of our web site, as we know others will enjoy it, too.
Bonhoeffer coined the expression "cheap grace", meaning those people who claim God's salvation without turning away from their sins. It is the turning away from our sins and striving to walk with God that matures us in God's perfection, as you wrote in your poem.
We agree that if pastors would indeed preach love, compassion, etc., we would most likely have a revival.
In teaching Bible studies, and the way to apply our interpretations and understandings of what is in God's will, I would suggest that they use the Bible as a standard. If something contradicted the Bible, it was not of God, and then to test their interpretation with unconditional love. If their understanding was not loving, it also would not be in God's will.
We look forward to hearing from you again, and also to seeing more of your writing.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank
