"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
The cones of the surrounding white pine trees are shedding their seeds, many of them landing on our sundeck where a chipmunk visitor enjoys a tasty treat.
Sitting here writing this Blog, I composed this little poem:
Little chipmunk, furry friend,
Through the window I see you
Busy searching for some seeds;
God supplies your daily needs.
Isaiah’s words float through my mind,
When creatures dwell in perfect peace.
With restoration of His reign,
God banishes all pain.
There’ll be no need to fear:
All creatures far or near
Will see your life as dear.
At last we’ll know eternal love
Flowing to us from Above.
