"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
Early this beautiful spring morning I went outdoors to do some yard work.
One of the roses of the wild rose bush known as Rosa rugosa was open. As I
leaned over to smell this fragrant flower, I thought of the popular saying
Take time to smell the roses.
The buds on the iris stalks looked like they should be opening soon, and
here and there a buttercup greeted me. On the lakeshore, wild mint is making
its annual appearance. It is fun to see familiar plants, as well as the
occasional new discovery, growing in our yard.
