An Abyss of Joy, A Sufficient, story
Poetry By Anthony James
if i ever run out of things today
or seem to be off and away
when I can't get any, at all, to say
my name,
and
i love you.
if i'm off by myself
a modest man
working, paying my way
so to say, with my hands..
an honest man
and though,
my sin, shone
on that random night
when i could not believe
my own eyes
if i ever run out of things today
or seem to be off and away
when I can't get any, at all, to say
my name,
and
i love you.
i will pray.
if you see me,
along the way..
you will know
that I am not afraid.
astray, and frayed...
for me,
He Came.
I can not explain
how it came to be,
that I am alive..
me,
and I have a name.
and i breathe, even though
i might as well have died...
and i thought to myself
maybe God is telling me
not to quit?
but what, i sought?
is there for a man like me?
Like Who? He said?
Father, I am nothing
No, Lord, I am not worth it.
I didn't know it,
but when I told Him that
He told me this.
Gerard,
I Love you.
