Ethical Evolution

Open cages,
Empty tanks,
Demolished buildings,
Air, no longer rank.

End of squeal, screech, scream
And cry of terror.
Voices silent, peace reigns
Now and forever.

Plant based food systems,
Climate revival,
Species recognition
And human arrival.

Seeds of altruism
And mighty calls of passion,
We, the human-animal, fashion:
A new world of shared collaboration,
An end to hesitation.

As streets glisten with dewy trees
And we pull up concrete and
Make sacred:
Protect the blessed bees.

Enriching soil and ceasing
All pollution.
We ‘the human’ are no longer
In need of ethical evolution.

Of this, I have hope.
I dare to dream.
A vision yet realised.
A moment made real.
