If You’re An Animal
By Margaret Marcum

If you’re an animal you might want to run and hide
If you’re an animal you might wish you weren’t
alive
If you’re animal you might want to save
your hide
If you’re an animal, deep pain is a daily ritual
If you’re an animal you might wish English was
your first language
If you’re an animal daydreaming of escape is
habitual
If you’re an animal you better pray next time
the curse of all fours is better and before
