Despite the Winter StormsAnimal Rights, Spiritual and Inspirational poetry that touch the heart and soul, and provoke the mind.
hidden deep
in secluded
woodlands
we find
ephemeral
vernal pools,
appearing
when Winters
are wet,
and vanishing
with Spring and
Summer heat.
Now
on the cusp
of Spring
there are
mighty
convocations,
gatherings
of every kind
of frog,
at first making
just a few
tentative calls,
then building
day by day
to nearly deafening
cacophonies —
chirps and peeps and croaks
and the delicate
sounds of sleigh bells,
proclaiming for
all the world to hear
that Spring
cannot be denied,
that love
and life
will go on.
