SAMPLE LETTER: Dear Rep. ______________

It is wonderful that Westchester County has introduced a bill banning traveling animal acts including circuses and rodeos. I urge you to please pass this ban: Traveling animal acts are archaic and inherently cruel - all have multiple violations as well. For more information visit www.circuses.com - and are being banned all over. They certainly have no place in an enlightened, compassionate county like Westchester.

Thank you in advance for your kind consideration of this issue,
(name)

NOTE: The current bill bans implements of rodeo, such as electric prods, sharpened spurs, etc; rodeo purveyors deny using anything. This will require constant monitoring, which won't be done. They must be banned outright. The rodeo crowd is a bunch of liars who skirt around the same laws all over the country. Rodeos were here before; they will be coming back. They recently came to NYC bc that ban didn't exclude them. Animals have died at rodeos; visit sharkonline.org for more information.
