Protest The Zerbini Circus in Dalton MA
Friday, July 6th, 7th, & 8th, 2018
Once again, the Dalton Lions Club, in opposition to the preferences of the
Lions Club International, will be bringing circus with animals to Dalton, MA
on Friday through Sunday, July 6th, 7th & 8th. Once again, the Dalton
Lions are operating in opposition to a large section of the local community
who are opposed to animals preforming in the circus. Once again, they
are bringing in the Zerbini Circus, which has camels, dogs, and ponies.
Once again, we will be there to raise our voices for the animals.
This year, due to the fact that there are no exotic animals, such as
elephants, lions and zebras in the show, we will focus on the opening day;
Friday, July 6th. We wish to make a strong showing that day,
expressing our displeasure that animals are still present in this circus,
and alsoacknowledging the dropping of exotic animals.
Each protest is for one hour before each show and is as follows:
On the sidewalk outside the American Legion Field on Route 9, at the
same place we have been every year:
56 North St. (Rt. 9) Dalton, MA 01226
Protest Times:
(2 shows each day = 2 protests each day, one hour before each show, there is
only one show on Sunday)
Friday, July 6th: 1:00 to 2:00 & 6:00 to 7:00 PM (Our Main Protests)
Saturday, July 7th: 3:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 7:00 PM
Sunday, July 8th: 1:00 to 2:00 PM
We should have enough signs if you need one. You can also make your
own (without sticks per police order), that would be great! Please remember
not to bring signs depicting Elephants, Lions or Tigers. Berkshire
Advocates for Animals will only be concentrating on protests for Friday,
July 6th. There will most likely be some of us there for the Saturday
protests. At this time, we may not have protesters on Sunday. We
hope you can make as many of the protests as you are able.
The Zerbini Circus has animals, which are intelligent beings, who perform
not because they choose to, but because they are forced to under the command
of human trainers wielding whips and other disciplinary weapons. This circus
has been cited year after year by the USDA for failing to provide minimal
care for their animals. For more information on the Zerbini Circus see:
